Town of Greenville:
Currently there is a plan before the Planning Board for more than 2000 condominiums to be built on 450 acres on the ridge north of I-84. While most people in the town have expressed strong opposition to this, the developers have filed a lawsuit against the Town attempting to force it to accept this disastrous project.
The Town adopted a new comprehensive master plan two years ago. There are some good features to the plan that will encourage Ridge protection and promote conservation of nearby wetlands, watersheds, and viewsheds. Unfortunately, town officials have not adopted any new zoning laws to implement the master plan. Local activists are trying to get the town to make progress on progressive zoning.
